About Author

Victor Leinonen has written 3 books in the last 10 years on the Nordic region history, specifically Finland. The most recent book title is Bloggers Guide To Arctic Finland (2019).

The Bloggers Guide To Arctic Finland is a compilation of the author’s blog articles over 10 years. The first blog that he started was way back in 2009. That early blog was named Nordic Cuisine Focus. The blog content covered many areas of the Nordic region that he really enjoyed visiting, photographing, and writing content on and publishing. The articles were focused mainly on the natural Nordic environment, Finland, regional produce, ingredients, nature, traditional culture, and cuisine.

Victor Leinonen is a Finnish-born author with a diverse background. In 1971, he moved to Australia with family. Later in his life, he traveled to work in Lapland, Finland, as a chef/cook in December 2008. The natural environment of Lapland is a truly unique experience – from the seasons, the two extreme ends of light to the long winter months and long summers days with the mass migration of birds in the spring season. All of these come together to form an exceptional perspective on the Nordic movement of life.

Victor writes about the locations of Lapland where he has worked, skied, snowboarded, trekked, traveled, and photographed. A brief layout of Lapland municipalities is included, with place locations of West, East, North, and central Rovaniemi, Lapland.

Victor is a keen photographer, traveling on skies in the backcountry during the winter season and foraging for berries during the summer season. Photographing all the impressions of all the seasons of the natural environment.

The country’s documented history of the last 1000 years is a fascinating resource to learn more intrinsic details about human psychology, and how common repression is among the disciples of world dictators. Finland has 600 years of modern history, 400 years under the rule of Swedish kings, 100 years under Russian rule, and 100 years of coexistence with Soviet Russia. And the collective time that the people of Finland have served under these foreign rulers for 500 years was never invited or voluntary.

The first book Victor wrote title is Inkeri Land, (2009). It takes the reader back in time to the eradication of the Inkeri people from their land, by the Soviet Union dictator Vladimir Lenin, and Josef Stalin. The most ruthless forced evacuations and ethnic cleansing, driven by the philosophy and worldview of Karl Marx zero sum global revolution for Communism. Genocide and forced evacuations from the Karelian Isthmus and the south shores of the Gulf of Finland, and the replacement of populations with Russian nationals.

The second book is by far the largest with over 600 pages, the title A CLAIM FOR A TRUE WORLDVIEW. (2020). It presents the 500 YEAR history of Finland struggle for independence, against the imperial forces of Sweden and Russia, back and forth the imperialistic military forces fought on and over the Finland people land and territory, from lake Ladoga to the Gulf of Finland, and Bothnia Bay to the Arctic and the White Sea.

The CLAIM FOR A TRUE WORLDVIEW book explains jurisprudence from the Biblical Spirit of the Natural Law. The basis of fundamental human rights, right to life, right to liberty and freedom to property. That is the God-given design, to those that fear and respect the Spiritual given by the oracles of God in the first five book s of the bible. Human right can be forfeited, by rebellion, lawlessness, and anarchy. By default, fundamental human rights are revoked when a free-willed human agent by choice chooses conscious blasphemy and rebellion against the Spirit of the Natural Law.

Victor is a qualified chef and has worked with many high caliber professional chefs in Australia over the last 20 years. He has worked in many 5-star hotel banquet kitchens, and for a restaurant owner-operator with 2 stars Michelin chef.

He has worked in commercial kitchens of hotels, resorts, and family lodge Restaurants in Australia from 1990 – 2008. He moved to the Nordic region of Finland in 2008 and worked for many seasons in restaurant kitchens in Arctic Finland. He also spent a lot of time skiing and snowboarding, and going on day trips, and capturing the experience for sharing.

The summer season was mostly used up foraging for wild berries and exploring the environment. Capturing wild berries during the harvest time and selling them at the local farmer’s markets. The clean Nordic environments make it possible to forage berries from the forest with the knowledge that they are safe to eat – unlike large parts of southern Europe where natural ingredients found in nature are not safe to eat without boiling them first.

The Nordic region has a unique natural environment due to its proximity to the Arctic North Pole.

The natural Nordic ingredients, history, the people’s cultural interactions with the environment are also unique. The Nordic region is a truly interesting place to visit, to live, to explore, and to enjoy. To enjoy the Nordic region comes naturally to people that enjoy winter sports and enjoy spending time in the Nordic natural environment during the Spring and Summer season.
